55,600 to sit for STPM exam from tomorrow

PETALING JAYA: The Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination will be held nationwide from tomorrow to Dec 10.

Malaysian Examinations Council (MEC) public relations officer Khawari Idris said a total of 55,635 candidates would be sitting for the examination at 758 centres.

“Candidates are reminded to bring their identity card and Candidate Registration Entry Report (LPKC1 or LPKC2) during the examination,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Khawari said candidates who had either not received or lost their LPKC1 or LPKC2 could log onto MEC’s website (www.mpm.edu.my) to print a copy of their registration.

In case of environmental disasters such as floods or landslides, he advised candidates to go to the nearest centre and report to the chief invigilator there in order to sit for the paper.

He advised candidates who have or are suspected of having Influenza A(H1N1) to contact the state education department or the district education office to obtain the necessary assistance.

Khawari said the MEC would have an operations room for the duration of the STPM.

It would be operational from Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6pm and could be reached via tel at 03-6130 2666, 03-6135 2035/2390/2316.
